Wangfujing Grand Hotel

Location. The Wangfujing Grand Hotel is located close to downtown Beijing, China, on Wangfujing Street, the Chinese capital's most famous street for shopping. This shopping strip is home to popular department stores, bookstores and restaurants. The world-famous Capital Theatre of China is just a few blocks from the hotel. Other places for sightseeing are the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and Beihai Park all within one kilometer of the property.

Hotel Features. Several on-site restaurants serve various Chinese-style selections as well as French food. There's also a Chinese teahouse and a coffee shop serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The hotel offers a variety of on-site recreations including a popular nightclub and a shopping arcade with a crafts store, gift shop and beauty salon. The hotel's health club offers a fitness center, massage and beauty therapy treatment rooms, and hot and cold dip pools. There is also a snooker room and Mah-jongg room on site.

Guestrooms. Most of the 405 guestrooms overlook the Forbidden City and Jingshan Park and feature high-speed Internet access, cable/satellite television, complimentary bottled water, minibars, refrigerators and house shoes. Bathrooms offer complimentary toiletries and bathrobes with extra towels and bedding available. In-room massages are available upon request.
Executive suites have plasma HD televisions, fax machines, humidifiers and computers. The hotel's Palace Suite achieves the pinnacle of comfort with two bedrooms, a foyer, a living area, study and a small meeting room.

Expert Tip. Aside from the large, Westernized shopping centers of Wangfujing, the avenue also has night markets, where street vendors sell native Chinese products including antiques, porcelain, carpets, paintings and calligraphy scrolls, and traditional Chinese medicine.
